Adobe has released for download the Camera RAW 8.7 update for Photoshop CC and the Camera RAW 8.7 RC version for Photoshop CS6 users with support for the new Nikon D750 and several other cameras. If you have bought yourself a new camera announced at Photokina 2014, then there is a good chance that The D750 was added in Camera Raw 8.7. Are you certain you have updated Camera Raw? Also, did you happen to use Nikon software to download the images? The Nikon software (at least certain versions) do something to the images that make them not readable with Adobe software. Adobe is not forcing you to do anything. Camera Raw 8.7 is now available as a final release for Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC.
